VINS WINE LLC — Shipping Policy

Last Updated: March 1, 2026

VINS Wine LLC (“VINS,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to ensuring that all wines purchased through our Website arrive in optimal condition. Because wine is a natural, perishable product, proper storage, handling, and climate control are essential at every stage of the process. This Shipping Policy describes how VINS stores, packs, and ships wine within the United States, and how “Private Cellar” orders may be delivered to a U.S.-based forwarding address designated by the customer.

1. Storage Conditions

Wine is sensitive to heat, light, vibration, and fluctuations in temperature or humidity. Improper conditions can damage any wine, regardless of producer or vintage.

All wine held by VINS is stored in a professional, temperature- and humidity-controlled facility designed specifically for long-term cellaring.

Our storage environment includes:

  • Constant temperature of approximately 55°F
  • Humidity maintained around 70%
  • Minimal light exposure
  • No vibration
  • Secure, restricted-access facility

These conditions replicate an active wine cellar and protect your wine year-round from harmful external influences.

2. Climate Control & Free Storage

Proper climate control is essential for wine quality. VINS maintains an ideal 55°F / 70% humidity climate for all inventory.

2.1 Free Storage Option

To help customers avoid weather-related shipping risks, VINS offers:

  • Free storage for future purchases
  • Summer and winter “hold” services
  • Storage until safe-shipping windows reopen

You may request complimentary storage for any order by contacting hello@vinswine.co, and we will hold your wine safely until conditions permit secure transit.

3. Shipping Practices (U.S. Domestic)

VINS has extensive experience shipping wine throughout the United States. To ensure the best possible delivery conditions, we follow industry-standard packing and handling procedures.

3.1 Packaging

We use shipping materials specifically designed for wine, including:

  • Heavy-duty Styrofoam or molded pulp wine shippers
  • Thermal liners or insulating wraps
  • Shock-absorbing packaging
  • Secure inside-box cushioning

These materials are selected to help preserve the wine during transit and reduce exposure to temperature changes.

3.2 Shipping Charges

Shipping fees are calculated at checkout based on:

  • Order size
  • Destination
  • Carrier rates
  • Packaging type

We do not mark up carrier shipping costs beyond packaging and handling.

4. Weather & Temperature Holds

Wine is extremely sensitive to heat and freezing temperatures. For this reason, VINS reserves the right to delay shipment if weather conditions could compromise your wine.

You may choose:

  • Immediate shipment (you assume risk), or
  • Weather Hold (recommended), where we store your wine until temperatures are safe.

If you request shipment during unsafe weather—heat waves, freezing temperatures, etc.—VINS cannot guarantee the condition of the wine upon arrival.

5. Carrier & Delivery Requirements

VINS ships primarily through UPS or FedEx using Adult Signature Required service, as required by law.

By placing an order, you acknowledge that:

  • A 21+ adult signature may be required at delivery
  • The carrier may make multiple delivery attempts
  • Wine cannot be left unattended or delivered without ID where required
  • Failed delivery attempts may incur additional carrier fees and/or return shipping fees

6. IMPORTANT: No Direct International Shipping by VINS

VINS is a U.S.-based retailer. VINS does not directly ship alcoholic beverages internationally. Any references to “Korea,” “landed,” “duties,” “taxes,” or “forwarding” relate to customer-selected logistics services that occur after VINS completes delivery to a U.S. address designated by the customer.

If you need help selecting a U.S. delivery option, please contact hello@vinswine.co before ordering.

7. Private Cellar Orders — Delivery to a U.S. Forwarding Address (Oregon)

Certain customers may choose to place “Private Cellar” orders and designate a U.S.-based forwarding address (e.g., an Oregon forwarding warehouse) as the shipping destination.

7.1 What VINS Does

For Private Cellar orders, VINS will:

  • Process your order and collect payment through our Website
  • Prepare and ship your wine to the U.S. address you provide
  • Provide normal order confirmation and tracking for the U.S. domestic shipment leg

7.2 What VINS Does NOT Do

VINS does not:

  • Provide customs, tax, or legal advice for international importation
  • Serve as the importer of record into Korea
  • Control the international shipping process, customs clearance, carrier handling abroad, delivery timelines abroad, or final-mile delivery in Korea
  • Guarantee that any shipment will clear customs or be accepted by a foreign authority

7.3 Forwarding Service Is Separate

If you use a third-party forwarding service, that service is independent from VINS (even if you were introduced through Private Cellar operations). Any services provided by the forwarder—such as international shipping, customs brokerage, tax payment/advancement, and delivery in Korea—are governed by the forwarder’s terms and processes.

7.4 Duties/Taxes & “All-in / Landed” Programs (If Offered)

If VINS offers an “all-in” or “landed” price concept for Private Cellar customers, it is intended as a convenience to help customers understand estimated total costs. Actual duties, taxes, brokerage fees, and government charges are assessed by the importing country and may vary.
Any payment or advancement of such charges (if applicable) is handled through the forwarding/brokerage process and subject to the applicable Private Cellar terms you agree to at checkout and/or through your membership.

7.5 Declared Value & Documentation

VINS will provide invoices and transaction documentation that reflect the actual transaction price and order details. VINS does not support misstatements or undervaluation of declared value.

7.6 Risk of Loss / Responsibility Split

  • U.S. domestic leg (VINS → U.S. address you provide): VINS responsibility follows our normal domestic shipping practices and carrier claim process where applicable.
  • After delivery to your designated U.S. forwarding address: responsibility transfers to the customer and/or the forwarding service. VINS is not responsible for loss, damage, seizure, delay, breakage, temperature exposure, or customs issues occurring after delivery to the forwarding address.

8. Shipping Restrictions by State

Due to alcohol regulations, VINS may not ship to certain states or jurisdictions. Shipping availability depends on your location and applicable laws. VINS reserves the right to cancel orders where shipment is prohibited or not feasible.
